The vets in Huelgoat nearly killed our Newfoundland after a simple  operation was done on his ear.  They then proceeded to give him another huge dose of anaesthetic only  because he was crying in the surgery after the op. (not good for the clients to hear that)  They should have known how dangerous it was to give Newfies anaesthetic.   When I picked him up from the vet's he was very dozy and they couldn't have cared less!!.   I nursed him all night and rang them at 6.00 in the morning to say he was on death's door.  The vet said ( 'Oh, he probably had too much anaesthetic, you will have to ring back after 9.00 am).   I said he would be dead by then and I pleaded with them so much to come out but no way would they get out of bed for our poor dog.  Luckily with the help of smoked salmon and me giving him the kiss of life he survived.  There is a good English speaking vet in Rostrenon.
