We have two pure  Icelandics here in the Uk, Mother and Daughter- Hekla and Torfa  not for sale however although some days you just ---------- well they are a bit of a handfull sometimes. I am sure you probably know but they are trying to increase the number of Icelandic in France  but because there are not that many then you may struggle.  Importing via Scotland where there seems  a sensible number  may be a better bet but not cheap. The website

www.purcheval.com/en/the-icelandic-horse/the-icelandic-horse-in-france/

gives some idea of distribution .
