Did you report that at the Marie?  Have you also reported it to the gendarmes and have you now got them back?

That is so scary! What kind of sign should horse owners be looking for? We have two big dogs with a big mouth,  I don't know if that would help keeping those people away?

Just a quick update as we are exhausted and worried.

We seem to have been targetted, as a few days before some sacks of horsefeed went missing.  It is the style of a particular type of people who also mark their targets after casing the joint.  Our boys were taken from behind our house from a well electrified paddock. They were seen being led into a field some good walking distance away, which includes a very busy wide road.  Luckily the young man who witnessed this saw our Facebook appeal, so we got them back, one normally very calm, showing he had been in a right state. The field used is in an excellent position for collection and quick get away to the motorway.

I have since found the marks used.  It should be noted that there is a major horse fair on in Sud Manche tomorrow (and yes we had contacted the organisers and gendarmes there).  As we have other horses here, we are busy upping our security.  Why us, we do not know, though we are rather isolated from other habitation.
