Hi went past the office this morning it s ZOOPOLE not as I said before, the procedure is to contact them they will give you an appointment with them and send you the paperwork, your vet will have to fill this in when they check the horses, micro chips passport four legs tail and temperature!!! You the take the paperwork to ZOOPOLE they will check it and stamp it. The vet check has to be within 48 hours of departure from French soil. You may need journey plans depending on hours travelling DEFRA have info on there web site. HEALTH CERTIFICATE is what you need, hope this is more helpful

We have travelled horses back to the uk several times,  you take the vet report certificate to ZOOPLA not sure where your local on is ours is St Brieuc. I would imagine your vet would knowthe office for your area, there is a time requirement forom vet visit to travel. Good luck found the process fairly easy not to stressfull once  found out the correct procedure, DEFRA are not a good source of info europe to uk, ZOOPLA are their equivilant.

Your nearest/usual Veterinary surgeon that knows/has visited the horse or not will explain what is needed. However it will need to be registered with the Haras & microchipped before any transporter will load it or if taking it yourself the Vet services at the ferry will demand to see this document & check the Microchip.

I would check with DEFRA (or whatever they are called now if the name has changed) if you need one.

If you can't get any sense from them then try calling the ferry company people.  When we brought our 3 over we were tole that it was only the UK that required the test, but that was in  2006.  Anyway the only people we found out all the list of documents from was the ferry company as Defra omitted to inform us about one of the documents!
