Hi Mimi thanks for reply, I think your right about my dog being able to hold on!  so thanks for advice,

Unless there is a change somewhere, he won't have time to do much.  Suggest you don't feed him before the trip, give him little water only.  Take a water spray bottle (like Evian) with you and spray a little on his mouth if he gets thirsty.  

I think he'll be OK because they can hold it way longer than a human being.  My family travelled with their dog from Toulouse to Strasbourg, he held it and more because he peed the next day (approx 26 hours later).

Some trains are direct and some have one change (Paris Gare Montparnasse) so check when you book.
