The Aikido sounds very good but what I'm really looking for is not so much the philosophical side of martial arts but the self defence side i.e. the best techniques to practise that are of practical use, even if it's from different tutors and from various/mixed forms of martial arts.

I'm also looking for individual tuition rather than group courses because it's hard for me to attend things weekly in that way because of my work.

I am interested in a sparing partner though to practise with in case you're not too far Buddy1?

If anyone knows any good tutors of whatever form of martial art in the area I'd be grateful to know about it.

Would you be interested in Aikido? There is a club in Carhaix for this. I don't know the address, but just google Aikido Carhaix or Aikido au Centre Bretagne and it will show.
