Sncf will give you an 'alert' as soon as bookings open for TGVs.  Have just paid 20 euro to get from Rennes to CdG airport, no rail card, nor pensioners discount (no reimbursement if I cancel either!).

They depend on age, family or w/e only travel etc. Visit the SNCF site or a SNCF boutique for further info.

If you choose the right card the second person with you travels free or at 50% !!

i will check that out as we want to go to paris sometime,and again why drive there,let the train take the strain,i might even take up train spotting again,oh i will need an anorok

If you fancy more trips by train it would be well worth investing in one of the SNCF rail cards, quite a choice and the discounts on travel can be substantial.
