I wasn't aware that BBC had also set up on 19 degrees east, when did this happen?

There is a magazine called 'What Satellite' in UK that gives you all the satellites and their channels and the size of dish needed, the same info is available on the internet.

Your BBC world is on Hotbird, also called Eutelsat. If you are on Astra at 28.2 there are very few non english channels and the signal for BBC is the same for most of the other channels. Are you sure that your receiver is not analogue? Astra analogue is mostly german and eutelsat analogue has polish, hungarian, turkish etc. These are the only ones you could pick up with a 55ch dish.

Thanks Cardi and Jeremy............Getting Al Jazeera from 19 apparently, getting good reception from the channels we have got from 19 and 28 so can't understand why the Beeb isn't there. Hubby has been tweaking all afternoon (!) but still no luck. Don't seem to have a sat called Hotbird (much to hubby's disgust) listed on our box. Do you think we need a bigger dish? saw a 70cm one in Carrefour for 30 euros! Any other ideas anyone?

We have all bbc channels but on the astra 19 sat as it gives the best signal where we are. Sounds like you need to tweak your dish a bit.Best of luck. Jeremy

You do not appear to be on 28.2.

The channels you describe are not there also al jazeera is scrambled on 28.2.

BBC World is on Hotbird.
