Returned to uk on 28 April full time , having sold our French house. I'd submitted my Declaration des Impots for 2018 before I realised we were moving, but now suspect that I will continue to pay French tax till DEC 2018. I've changed addresses on line, written to tax office by accuse de reception, and advised them in person before we left France. Also notified UK tax. Only response is advice from UK that my inc...

We have masses of paperwork, bills, bank statements etc. please can somebody tell me how long we need to keep all the various documents, i.e. Some are one year and anything up to lifetime. thanks Plumtart  ...

Has anyone successfully had a will drawn up, or knows of somebody who has, under the new inheritance laws, allowing the selection of country of birth for the purpose of the will. If so what are the details of how it was executed.  Also does anyone have experience of such a will being actioned. What was the reaction at the French end. How do we stand for breach of contract with our electrician if we didn’t stipulate a completion date? We paid 60% deposit in june 2016 as demanded on Devis. Works started for electric and plumbing installation February 2017. First fix “completed”, plumbing piping installed but nothing else. Works stopped may 2017 and we haven’t seen him since. Bought shell of a house 6 years ago. Renovated to the stage when fist fix could be carried out. Paid electrician 60% deposit in June 2016. Works started for electrics and plumbing February 2017. Now compiled all works so electrician can complete and obtain consuel. But electrician is proving very elusive. Electrician has key to property so could come any time.
