Mick,

If you transfer you AOL English account to AOL France you will have to open new email addresses. AOL seem to consider transferring an account as closing an account, they keep you addresses for 6 months (in case you want to return to AOL - even though you are not leaving AOL!?!)

This is what we were told when we telephoned them.

If you get the same answer when you call, do as Priory suggests and use a different provider. As you'll have to open new addresses anyway. If you get a different answer, I'd be interested to know.

We found a way round it though......;)

You'll be fine with the adapters as you say, ours goes through a UK multi socket on to an adaptor. Bought a continental adaptor for the 'phone line.

Regards.

You will have to re-register with aol France - they will give you a new dial-up number to call in France. You will still be able to retrieve EMails from your present AOL account using webmail.

We binned it and started to use Freesurf....muiles better IMHO
