But would it be any cleaner or quicker?  If Iraq is anything to go by it wouldn't appear so.

Er, think it would be over a lot sooner with the advances in warfare-or should I say 'regressions'?

I watched the BBC coverage - sorry, don't have French TV, but I think they made the same point about the civilian populations destroyed by bombing etc.   God help us if another world war should ever break out.

Did you watch the BBC or France 2 version? I watched the French and was appalled by the civilian casualties (10 times more than the allied and german forces combined!) Yet they still said it was worth the price.

I was moved to tears many times watching the TV coverage, which was brilliant, and would like to thank and congratulate everyone involved for such a masterpiece of organisation.   It will live on for a long time.
