Hi Trys

There are several insurances that you might find it useful to have:

Health (are you in the French system?)if you are it's a good idea to get a top up mutuelle, if you're not then you need Private Health Care in case of accidents and being admitted to hospital etc.

House (even if you rent you are obliged to have a house insurance). This one also includes a civil insurance which covers many things to do with you personally (if your dog bites someone for instance or your child breaks a neighbours window)

Car - obvious

Children's School insurance - to protect them whilst at school and on day trips etc.

If you are working in France as self-employed as a carpenter or painter, for example, you'll need insurance to work......

Just a few examples, feel sure there are more, but most insurance agencies will be able to advise you.

Not sure if this has helped?!

AXA appear to know what they are doing.  Available in most places in Normandy, presumably Brit. also.  They have some English speaking employees too.  Do try hard to learn French though.  The weather in Southern UK is gross at the moment too.  Should clear up soon!avonlady
