Hiya,

Ive just put my insurance to Non Exclusive, so anyone can drive it. Amusingly they actually reduced my premium and i got 81€ back!

The downside is that I have to pay the first 750€ of any claim made. My excess prior was 153€ on a Mercedes.

"all driver" insurance is actually the norm in France.  Your green vignette covers the car and any driver - at least for 3rd Party liability which is the legal minimum.  Often it will cover for whatever extra risks you have insured (fire, theft, self-damage, etc.) for all drivers as well.  However - you pay for unspecified drivers when claiming - typically through a much larger franchise. You can "buy" coverage for this increased franchise risk by paying slightly more premium to cover extra named drivers.   Spouse is always covered as additional driver for free, children can be covered for small uplift, other drivers will increase the premium even further.
