A cardan is a CV joint

A soufflet is a gaiter

I guess G is for Gauche i.e. left

So it would indeed be to do with the steering geometry

Hope this helps (I am not a mechanic!)

Probably Soufflet de Cardan - it is the rubber cover that goes over the constant velocity joint on the drive shaft of front wheel drive cars. If split the grease gets out, the joint can sieze and that would be a problem.
