Be careful my husband has been trying to import a motorbike which was originally registered in Switzerland and the DRIRE in Toulon (nearest place to Nice) will not accept it as it does not conform to French regulations (the emissions control is much higher than in France). You must get all the paperwork ready as well as proof from the tax office that no tax is due - we've been trying for two years and so far have not been able to register it in France and my husband is French!! Research it thoroughly before you buy it.

Hi Arabella,I am interested in importing a vespa from Vietnam too. Perhaps we can ship together and share the costs. I can also put my ear out for ways to register it here, I'm in Antibes. If you want to call or email my number is 0631775553 or lancepll@yahoo.co.uk. CheersLance
