Last time I was in Venice was about 25 years ago. They had MASSIVE car parks, accessible from the motorway Venice-Trieste. They were labelled A to H (I think).

Enormous and gated with some degree of security. Vaporetto pier was right at the entrance/exit for pedestrians to take you from Mestre to venice.

Hi Liz,

depends on how long you are staying & if you are in a hurry.....

I've left the car a couple of times at the airport parking & taken the water boat in from there. The parking isn't expensive for a couple of days & the boat trip is relaxing (if a little long).

Otherwise there is a parking at Mestre which is fine & much closer.
