Hi Lisa, have a look at the info on the bottom of this page here. You have to go through a registered scrapper; they will collect. Basically, you "cede" it to them and then they take care of everything to do with deregistration. All you have to do is send in the signed documents to the prefecture, much the same as if you'd sold it.

Probably best to get a casse to collect it and give them the carte grise.  You don't say how far away from Antibes Port you're based, but this will be your best option.  In my experience they won't give you anything for it because they'll collect it 'for free'.
