To work as an assistane maternelle agréée you are obliged to be approved by the Président du Conseil Générale of your department followed by 120 hours of 'formation' before you can receive your first child at your home.

So your first port of call is the Conseil Général who will advise you as to procedure.

In France the work contract, which is obligatory, originates from the parents and they pay the childminder as an 'employee'.
