I also often take my 5-year old to the playground near the ruins of the chateau (it is on a hill, between the port and the old town, with beautiful views!). We usually walk up there and get an ice cream at Fenocchio's on the way back (in Vieux Nice). Parc Phoenix (near the airport) is also a very nice place: good playground, a small zoo and lots of space to play (entrance fee of 2 euro per kid). I was told that Castel des deux rois is also a very nice park, but we didn't check it out yet.

Good luck settling in!

There's a fenced-in playground at the ruins of the castle in Nice. The only thing is that there is no shade in the playground itself although there are shady trees all around it.

A good place to go,for all your family,is Park Carol de Roumanie,Fabron. You can go and spend there all day, playground for kids, and also is a great place to have picnic,or to organise birthday parties. If you have time to go,I'm sure your kids will enjoyed.
