Bormes les Mimosas is beautiful with some amazing beaches - the whole ambiance down there is so different to the Cote D'Azur and only about 1 1/2 hours away. There are some cheap hotels with family rooms, or some holiday residences, chambre d'hotes etc. Drop me a line if you would like details of where we stayed.

Thank you very much for some great ideas - I'm squirreling them all away onto my favourites for the moment - We're hoping to travel around one of the "ponts" in May with a bit of luck! - hello crossfamily - no not from Oz but my name is the same as the character Judy Garland plays... hence the pseudo!

It will depend on the time of year as most places are closed until late March or April.

We did a Eurocamp (we had never done one before, I prefer a Hilton or Hyatt...) at the following Pachacaid and it was so good we extended our stay, loads for the kids to do like kids clubs, water slides, nite entertainment and pool activities. We did it in June, you will need to check out when the kids club and entertainment start thou as they vary between each camp. Le Baume - Frejus is another one which we have heard is quite good.

If you feel like a longer drive Tuscany about 4 hrs we stayed at the following and our girls had a ball

All of the above offer quite a cheap holiday.

If i think of any others I will let u know.

PS No chance you are from Australia??? Like us...

Depending on your season look at coming out towards Frejus area...there is the Basse Nature which is great for walking/riding bikes and also there are a couple of waterparks in the area as well as many beaches.
