Could someone explain the nuances of unemployment benefit in France. If someone receives unemployment benefit can they then earn a small amount and declare it without losing the benefit. if so how much can they earn. please someone throw some light on this grey area.

Thanks in advance holidays

Hi - you have to tell the Assedic how much paid work you did and they will deduct a sum from your monthly payment.

If you didn't do very much then they will not deduct anything. Otherwise I don't know how they calculate it. As in most cases of French bureaucracy, it's best to go to the relevant office and get it straight from the horse's mouth.
