"Connexion" April edition is just out and contains a 4-page guide to filling in your French tax form.

As claretw1 points out re. help guides, you can get their full tax guide on-line or by post (9,50eur, I think).

There are also numerous adverts in the paper for health insurance (in English).

If your combined income is below a certain level you will be exempt from taxe d'habitation, and also exempt from paying for watching TV.

(We are exempt on both counts even though I am below retirement age as my wife has already retired and our income is below the required level).

Good luck,    Neil

Have you read the information on French taxes on this website?  It does give you the income levels for reductions.

You have to shop around for a mutuelle, it depends on your personal medical needs, you can tailor your top up accordingly.

Hope that helps and good luck.
