How to work out value of shares - sadly confused!

Thanks guys valuation guidance recieved and successfully digested this end - at least we know the paper value of what we are passing on.

There are a lot of Santander bank shares with all sorts of terminologies, places of issue, values, etc.  When you say the value is 460.00 per share, in what currency is it calculated?  You need to look at the reference of the shares to find out about their value, use your banque and go into their stock exchange market listing and with the reference of the shares + the place of issue, you can find out about the whole value.

BTW, if your shares are inside a "PEA" - Plan d'Epargne en Actions - in your "French" banque, then you won't be able to transfer it to your son, unless you sell all the existing shares in the PEA, close it, pay 13,5% taxes to the French government - more if the PEA was opened less than 8 years -  It's feasable, but a bit complicated...
