The one in Valbonne;

decor a bit on the posh side

service so so,prices not cheap,the cooking was good but not the norm for an Indian restaurant in the UK.

Worth a visit

check the bill (we were undercharged)

There's an Indian restaurant in Valbonne village now too. I'm not sure when it opened, but it's called "Taj" and it's on the side of the main road next to the Credit du Nord bank.We went there last night, and were impressed by the fact that no-one in the restaurant was smoking (maybe just a lucky night?), but especially the quality and taste of the food. I've not been to the Deli Behlli in Nice, so I can't compare however. There are lots of dishes on offer, and two evening menus (20 Euros and 30 Euros).The only downside of the was the quality of the service. They were fast to take our order but seemed thoroughly disinterested in us once the order was taken. This is surely just because they are new and have not hired all the staff necessary (there was only one waiter to take care of all twenty or so tables). Also the mango ice-cream dessert and coffee should be avoided...Definitely one to try out! I'll be going there again for sure.

I agree, the Punjab is very nice, but if you are willing to go further, the Dehli Behli, rue Barillerie in Nice is "ace". Located one street behind the flower market (cours saleya). Car park close by. Food is EXCELLENTVictoriaB

Maybe this link to Poojas will work.

It's at 17 rue St Philippe on the road between bvd Gambetta and rue Andrioli near where it crosses rue Dante.

The best Indian restaurant we have found in Nice is Poojas, a bit off the beaten track near the bottom end of bvd Gambetta.  It's a small, very friendly, family-run place with excellent vegetarian options.

Hi,

I ate at Le Punjab last Friday and the food and service was excellent.

Cheers

hear hear to the punjab for an itchy ring of fire!

you can speak english to them so it's just like being back in bradford/rusholme/hounslow...

forget the indian in villeneuve loubet - their interpretation of what is an onion bahji is abstract to say the least.

I'll second that! We've tried a lot of Indian restaurants in the area, Nice, Cannes, Antibes, etc. and 'Le Punjab' in Grasse is definitely the best.  The owner, Mr. Singh, is a really nice guy and the food is delicious.
