Definitely no need to buy frozen! As said above, Carrefour Antibes is good. Also Cannes Forville market (but expensive) and Cagnes sur Mer fish market in the pedestrian area in the middle of town - fresh off the boats daily. Also excellent fresh fish in Nice fish market, mornings, in a square on the edge of the old town. Lots of local Med fish fresh. Ventimiglia fish market (mornings) at the back of the huge covered daily produce market is amazing!

If you are an early riser, fresh off the boat and under the arches at cagnes-sur-mer port, next to the nice maritime university, around 6-7.30 am - but times variy alot between summer and winter.
