A bird for Christmas?

Hi there,

It's my turn to host christmas this year,so all the family are coming over to plague/pester me.

 Has anyone cooked a chapon (a castrated cockerel)  before? How does it compare with a turkey for quantity and quality of meat, cooking time etc? Any special tips on ways to cook it?

Also does anyone know of a good local farm where I can go and pick one out and how long before Chrstmas I need to order it from the farm?

Are there any special veggies that are usually served with it?
