If you use a pair of satellite TV dishes the range is 50km or more!  You just replace the head on the dish with an ordinary WiFi antenna.  You need a WiFi access point that has a single detachable antenna.

just google "satellite dish wifi"

Wireless G has a maximum range of about 100-150 feet indoors, not to sure on outdoors. You would need to buy signal boosters as well.

You would be able to share a single ADSL connection if you had a Wirless broadband router. Companies like Netgear, Linksys and D-Link all offer them.

Hello! dublin mike

thanks for the suggestion, I was'nt aware that WiFi had that sort of range, what would be the implications regarding each others privacy, and could we both use it at the same time ? regards

Perhaps you could agree to buy your neighbour 400m away a connection and link to it with wi-fi?

thanks for your quick reply David

yes I have asked FR.telecom, they were very adamant that the problem lies with 9online, who were just as adamant that the problem lies with Fr Telecom, and was just a matter of demand in Miniac Morvan

Have you asked France Telecom as they control the exchanges and are the only people who can tell you when they will upgrade the exchange?
