All sorts of people come by the evening before and take away anything they have a use for, so most of it gets "recycled"

You can also take the stuff to a centre yourself, heres a cut from the www.ville-nice.fr website.

Ces centres sont ouverts 7 jours sur 7 :
- du lundi au samedi de 8h à 12h et de 14h à 18h, et le dimanche de 8h à 12h.
Elles se trouvent :
- à NICE-EST : rue Georges Chapel
- à NICE-NORD : 22 boulevard Comte de Falicon
- à à NCE-OUEST : boulevard Paul Montel

I have found that specail bin men come by once a month and take oversized items of rubbish. I live in La Colle Sur Loup and they come by on the first Monday of  every month.

If you ring your Mairie and ask when the "Encombrants" collect, they should tell you. (Not sure if I have spelt that right ...)

Otherwise you can do what I did.... notice systematic piles of rubbish in your neighbourhood and add to it!!
