i've finally run out of cream of tartar and baking powder. I've found baking soda, which was no problem, and i bought some levure chimique (but in tiny quantities), but i don't know how they correspond to baking powder and especially to cream of tartar.

anyone know? and maybe where to find them?

For 1 teaspoon of Baking powder mix 1/4 teaspoon baking soda plus a 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar.

I don't know about cream of tartar but baking powder is usually available in the Asian groceries.

Depending where you are and how convenient Antibes is for you, you could try ringing Geoffreys of London Supermarket, Galerie du Port, rue Lacan - Tel: 04 93 34 55 70.  They sell most of the English type cake ingredients including mixed spice etc.
