There are quite a few price comparison sites surprisingly.  One of my favourites is http://www.clubic.com/s/    - it's really well laid out, easy to navigate, and they give detailed product specs including pics in order to find exactly what one is after.  xx. A

It is amazing to see all these places that I didn't have a clue about...this thread is as good as the thread that listed all the great songs people would play if they had a radio station. No one mentioned the only price comparison portal that I knew:http://www.kelkoo.frThey have a computer section as well as everything else, including a used section. A french friend of mine uses it all the time with great results.C J Flynn

Hi All

Has anyone had any experience of MACPCPARTNER.fr ??  We placed an order 04 Sep ... payment was deducted from our account 11 Sep ... now it's 23 Sep and we're still waiting for the product.  It's a considerable sum of money so I'm starting to get concerned.  They promise delivery within 24-48 hours.

I realise there has been the Apple Expo on in Paris (with which MacPartner has apparently been occupied) ... but they have not responded to our telephone messages nor emails.

Maybe I should just be more patient due to the Expo ... and put this posting in the "Yet Another Example of Great Customer Service" thread ... or maybe I should apply for a job as they obviously require extra staff to handle the backlog????

Thanks to JohnD who started the topic and everyone else who dropped the websites in, there are some fantastic prices out there compared to store prices! All that time saved in looking for them separately.

Ebuyer was set up by some of my ex-colleagues when I worked for an ISP in Sheffield, and they are indeed ridiculously cheap. I think that the guys who founded it wanted to annoy our parent company (Insight, an American giant) by undercutting them across the board. Apparently they took quite a lot of market share away from them in the UK.

I can vouch for ldlc too - excellent prices, although the delivery was a bit slow (usually takes 7 days from when order posted, despite being by courier) but you can track your order on their website. All items I've bought from them have been excellently packed too, so no worries about ordering fragile items.

In terms of price, however, I have yet to find a site that compares to ebuyer in the UK - it's a shame that they don't ship their stuff to France, but seeing as though I'm moving back to Blighty in 2 weeks, this isn't such as issue for me anymore ;-)

I have colleagues who have built custom PCs with quality stuff from www.rueducommerce.com and swear by them. I've bought from Marcopoly and Clust, too, and delivery was impeccable.

An excellent portal to try, which neatly compares prices and delivery dates from various sites if you know what you're looking for (although it's owned by Clust, so you'll always find them in the charts) is www.monsieurprix.com - saves a lot of hassle switching from site to site.
