Hi Claire,

You can get a PVC sheeting for this job at Castelli and Leroy Merlin on the RN202.

But I'm not sure what you mean by embankment, whether you mean the top surface or the angled side.

However the area has to be prepared properly so that the water runs off and does not collect on top of the plastic and ruins whatever you have on top.

Then the whole lot is covered with a layer of gravel and a channel provided to take the run off to where it's useful or non-damaging. Alternatively you could use a more complex product (more expensive too) which has the gravel bonded to it already.

Even with this I'm afraid on the Cote there is no way in the world to stop plant growth, but at least on top of the PVC in the gravel your 150 yr old grannie could weed it in 5 minutes.

The best solution for permanent peace of mind is proper drainage within the structure followed by PVC - then two grades of gravel  - then a concrete skim or sand - finished with paving slabs.

If you need further help let me know.
