Perhaps I didn’t make myself clear in the initial posting – I’m suggesting that the general perception in GB is that there’s too much emphasis placed on H+S regulations. Over there it’s a common moan: “bleeding elf ‘n safety”. However, I have not noticed the same degree of disenchantment in F.

For what it’s worth, I looked up the word “jobsworth” and it’s “employé tatillon”.

Maybe w/ a union job.

What about hygiene. Our local newspaper lists the restoraunts and the monthly score they receive from the inspector. Here they are luckly to ever see an inspector. You would be amazed at the state of restos here. Suggest you pay over €30 for a plate here or it is just like paying russian roulette.

Along w/ the health service (3rd world) and H+S, that island is a laughing stock over the channel.

Take a look at French electrical work.

Health and Safety hardly exists!
