In essence, you retain full copyright (droit de l'auteur) in anything you craete unless you assign that right to somebody else.

However, you may want to use a good intellectual property lawyer to draw up the contracts between you and your prospective client, to ensure that only those rights which you wish to assign are actually assigned.
