How do I complete a French cheque

Thanks for your speedy reply and your clear explanation of the mysteries of the French cheque. Now I can pay all those outstanding bills!

The top two lines (will probably say "Payez contre ce cheque" to the left of or above it) are for the amount in words - Quinze euros et quatre-vingt dix-neuf centimes, for example.

The next line (will probably begin with "à") is for the name of the person/organisation that will be receiving the cheque

The short line beginning "A" is for the town where the cheque is being written

The short line beginning "LE" is for the date

You sign beneath the date line

You put the amount in numbers in the box that has an € before it.
