How long can a French resident work in UK?

I am a French Resident for tax and all other purposes, but due to lack of work here am thinking of going back to London to do some temporary work for 2-3 months.  Does any one know if there is a time limit on how long one can go back to UK without losing French residency?

My reply (page 1) referred to fiscal residency and was based on information currently published by the French and British tax offices respectively.

To further add to the complexity, the term "domicile" has different meanings in France and the UK...**************

Are you referring to fiscal residency,  or your right to live in France?

You can have your physical residence outside France and still be fiscally resident in France, in which case you could be liable to French tax on world wide income.

If you are a UK citizen you will always have the right to live in France without formailty, at least until the EU is dissolved or Britain pulls out (oh Happy Day!).

There is also the separate matter of domicile, whereby you are probably UK domiciled and probably always will be.

It is all very complex and has far reaching implications and if it is important to you, rather than a matter of idle curiousity, you should take expert advice.

From the French perspective: 6 months.

From the UK residency perspective: 180 days in any one tax year or 90 days a year over 4 consecutive years.
