Is blood pressure measured differently?

the measure is systolic/diastolic.  Originally measured in terms of millimetres of mercury held up in a classic sphygmomanometer, the readings are now converted onto more sensitive devices,  The French tend to use centimetres rather than millimetres for this measure - so yes - the unit is changed simply by knocking off a decimal place.  12/8 is a pretty normal measure.  12/7 is healthy.
