Everyone is nervous about forest fires.  Light up a BBQ in a wood and the Canadairs will come and drop 10,000 litres of sea water on you.

They are still tolerated on some beaches.

How about Mt. Boron at Nice. There's a lovely small forest with terrific views overlooking Nice and Villefranche, with  some benches dotted around. Bus No. 14 takes you there from central Nice.

Have a Good B-Day Party!

dito the two cannes islands

or there are many many lakes around or you can have a whole small mountain to yourselves in nice if you are prepared to climb a not so challenging slope for 40 minutes or so

alternatively I love parc mercantour!!! highly recommended, wow!!

or have discovered some fab places in the hills of vence also

What about one of the two islands of Cannes. They are easy to reach by ferry and I'm sure you will find loads of quiet spots with stunning views.
