I was referred to an ophthalmologist at Cannes hospital by my doctor and she was excellent and very throrough. The team gave me a battery of tests to assess my condition (evoked potentials, colour vision, MRI, angiogram, etc.) and then the doctor compared these results with my old ones from Spain and wrote a long letter to the referring doctor with her findings.

It's probably best to ask your internist to recommend an ophthalmologist.

Has anyone experience of eye care in France - in particular for a glaucoma sufferer currently being treated with drops? Is this sort of care accessed via a GP in France? How difficult is it to obtain similar prescriptions to those prescribed in UK - if staying in France up to 6 months a year?Any advice/experience appreciated.Caro B
