Actually, I am here to report that the most amazing and wonderful breakie and service can be found at the Belle Rives in Juan les Pins.  Wow.  I unfortunately also have to report that they are not open in the winter months; pity, because that place serves up a very fancy do.Its all good

If you go on a Weekend, Les relais des Coches in Tourettes sur loup do a grat scrambled eggs and smoked salmon brunch. They also do the best Sunday lunch in the world - FACT!

Then I'd think one of the 4* luxury hotels might be your best bet; something like the Carlton, the Negresco or (outside your triangle, I know) one of the posh places near the Monte Carlo Casino. However, I haven't done it myself (except when I didn't live here and was just visiting on business).

Anyone got experience of eating breakfast at such places as a non-resident?

Ahem...

What do you mean by "good"?

American style? (Pancakes, waffles, maple syrup, vast choice of egg styles, muffins, Canadian bacon, endless quantities of fairly light coffee or eggs benedict or Danish pastries etc.) British style? (Bacon, eggs, sausages, black pudding, fried tomato, toast, marmalade and lashings of fairly strong tea or kippers - or smoked haddock - or devilled kidneys, kedgeree, plovers' eggs, etc.) Northern European style? (Cheese, ham, fruit etc.) Mediterranean style? (Croissants, brioche, cake, café au lait etc.) EvenTarantino style? (Big Kahuna Burger, Sprite)

Is a good breakfast one served on a linen tablecloth with champagne in the ice-bucket (or even, on silk sheets with champagne ditto!)? Or is a good breakfast eaten standing up at a deli, with a cigarette in one hand and a coffee in the other (or, come to that, do coffee and cigarettes themselves constitute "the Breakfast of Champions", as suggested by Jim Jarmusch in the movie Blue in the Face?)?

We need something more to work with here!
