Ring circuits in France?

I just started rewiring my house.  I noticed that there are no ring circuits, they are all radial.  Does anyone know if they use ring circuits in France, or are the radial circuits a relic from the bygone age of when yellow was live and white was neutral (as is the case in my house).

Thank you very much, Mike.  You saved me a lot of embarassment when the electrician comes to change the main fuse box.

Ring mains are not permitted in France - everything is based on the principle of the spur main. See here for more details:
