Hi Andy, when we bought our apartment we too recieved a water bill that was obviously way too high. I contacted the water company through their website, telling them the date we had purchased, and how often we had been there,  they were very helpful, they admitted their error and we did recieve a refund off our next bill. Couldn't you use the documentation that you have received from the notaire showing the date of purchase, so that they could possibly recalculate the bill?regards Lynnette

I know its tough but I think its one of those situations where you'll have to pay up and put it down to experience! I know its not fair but ...........yvonne
