Thanks, that helps. However, still don't understand why Sky News is bright as a star whereas the others are dead!

If your dish is only 80 cm or less, you will gradually lose channels as the cloud cover increases. this is normal. you will lose the weaker channels first, and if very thick storm clouds are in the way, you will lose everything eventualy. make sure your dish is clean, that it hasn't moved in the wind, and it will come back when the cloud moves away.

Buy a bigger dish if you want better reception. You can get dishes of 1m, 1.5m or 2m if you really can't stand losing the signal from time to time!
