Trains to Digne.

I heard from someone that there is a train that goes from Nice to Digne and you can have a meal on board has anyone heard of this train and any details about it.Regards.David Bell.

It is indeed very scenic - no experience of meals on board either -just two carriages with the driver at the front (no separate compartment - its  a bit like a bus in that respect) - it does take quite a while to get to digne over 3 hours I think!Randal

You have probably heard of the "train des pignes".

That is a pretty cute ride of just over 3 hours.    I didn't see meals on board but les chemins de fer de Provence do sometimes runs "specials".  If you get one of the first 2 departures of the day, you can hike, picnic or sit-down lunch in Digne or any of the beautiful stops along the way.
