You definitely need to be in possession of your attestation de soins before you can reclaim any fees with a feuille de soins.  The centre relations internationale will just return your feuille de soins if there is anything omitted, and, in any case, they will not process any item if you do not have  a temporary social security no. because, until then you are not officially in the system even if you have started the registration process.

Iit can take some months before you get an attestation and then it can be over a year to get your carte vitale.

Your attestation is valid for 6 months, so don't forget to ask for a new one as soon as the old one has run out, otherwise you will not be covered , it is only a case of asking for a new one, but you do not automatically get one!

Good luck.

As long as the UK (presumably though you don't say) has issued an S1 and CPAM have started processing it, there shouldn't be a problem in claiming the money back, as said.

once you have received your attestation you can expect to be reimbursed for your medical expenses (within the tarif secu, so no depassement d honoraires included) but you may have to pay the health professionel and send the orange feuille de soins to your caisse for reimbursement as not everyone will do the tiers payant without the carte vitale

If they've given you a number then you should be covered. The actual cards can take a while to come through to you.
