Thanks for your replies, my son is also covered in a hive like rash. I took him to the doctor and he is also suffering from a reaction from the chenille. We now have creams and pills to ease the itching.Terrible things these caterpillars!!!! Take Care

All good advice, beware that these toxic hairs that come from the little beasts hang around in clothes etc, I have know folk put away bed linnen that picked up these, and 6 months or so later developed a rash consistant with these microscopic hairs, some people believe they have developed an allergy to washing powder and are oblivious to the real cause.

Perhaps the best would be to check at the local pharmacy… given location close to eye, you must to be very careful.

he should wash it thoroughly with soap & water, & go to the chemist for antihistamine cream & pills. Urgently
