Hi,

I was looking for info for distressing wooden furniture at the same time as you and I looked on Youtube. There are lots of videos with demonstrations and hints on distressing furniture and you can see the different stages and end results, some of which are more pleasing than others but it is well worth a visit.

Have fun,

Polly

any water paint would do but farrow and ball have some nice colours they have a dist in Nice

oil paint takes ages to dry so water paint is best

i would first sand the furniture and them put an undercoat on ( white ) then take a bright colour & put that on and then the colour you want and with wire wool you rub off the top layer and you see the colour underneath

or you could use crackle glaze
