HR1. The pipes you have exposed are most likely the 'drain-field' for your fosse septique. That is the second treatment system, which takes the pre-treated water from the fosse, cleans it further and then allows it to seep gradually into the ground. It is important NOT to disturb this drain field and to re-bury it as it was without any damage to the pipes. Most well constructed fosse septique systems, which include the drain field will work well for many years without updating. Every few years, depending on how many people are using the system, the fosse itself ( a large underground tank) will need to be pumped out to remove the sludge. I believe that Veolia can be requested to inspect your system, check the sludge level, and advise on its proper maintenance. They are not the only company providing this service, so one can shop around. Good luck.
