On some I just cut the flowers and their stems but on others I'm also quite brutal and cut them almost right down to the ground. Nothing seems to affect them, they grow back beautifully whatever I do!

Hello, how far back did you cut your lavender.? Iam brilliant at killing plants,and want tobe sure Iam getting it right. Would appreciate your input. Thanks Bea.

I cut mine about 3 weeks ago. It grows back beautifully every year!

I cut mine after if finishes flowering & before all the grains all fall off & get everywhere (pool) as I don't want to keep any for lavendar bags etc, if you do I think you should cut mid summer.

But you can cut back (Scalp) in the Autumn so that you reshape & new growth will be stronger the following spring
