Hi Susan,

If you are hanging new hinges on existing hinge-pins (gonds) fitted to your walls,  measure the diametre of the pins and compare it to the internal diametre of the "ring" of the proposed new hinges.

When I was replacing old shutters with some s/h ones from Emmaus I found our gonds were too big in diametre for the hinges and had to buy new ones.

New hinges of the right length at Mr. Bricolage / Bricomarche were also too small in diametre so I had to buy 1m long hinges and cut off the excess.

Diametres of hinges and gonds will probably vary from store to store so it's best to take measurements before parting with your money.

Good luck, Neil

I would suggest Leroy-Merlin or Briconautes, Grasse.  Casto, forget it, the big Antibes store is now total chaos as they have built two new huge sales sheds and taken out a lot of car parking space.  You have to queue to get in!
