I live in UK and have a house in Valbonne. I get a letter here in UK at about this time of year giving me the option to "opt out" of paying for a TV Licence. I just ignore it because I do have a TV in France. So the charge is payed in one of the Taxes but can't remember if it is Forciere or D'Habitation. Am I the only one who gets this "opt out" letter????

Just send a letter to your local tax office (whichever one sent you the taxe habitation/audio visuelle demand) stating that you did not have a TV in your dwelling for the past tax year. They will refund you any payment already made.

On your annual tax return there is a box to tick if you don't have a TV.

Do you have a computer? A Smartphone? Iphone?

If yes, pay it.
